More gesture notes...going over all the methods that have morphed into what I use now. They all help. There is no one way to work that is for sure.

Hey ...glad you were able to get the book. It's a little crazy sometimes. I think my main purpose with this stuff is to show how much is out there. And to get the point across to try everything you can.

Happy the notes are helpful, and you are very welcome.

Focused blind contour drawing? I'm not familiar with that term... How do I do that?

Contour is a line that describes a form. Focus your eyes on one point along the contour of an object. Place your pencil on the paper. Follow the contour with your eyes while your hand draws simutaneously but put your drawing away from you so you cant see while you draw and dont look at it. Just believe that your hand is following exactly what your eyes are seeing. Make sure you go super slow. Your drawing will look retarded afterwards. It's just an exercise that will help you hand move with your eyes better.

Oh I see. That way, it the eyes that holds the pencils. Insightful.

And thank you for mentioning Nicolaides book. This book is full of exercises. I can relate to many people saying that this book is heavy. Sometimes, my impatience gets the better off me. :|

Mi forma favorita de bocetear; a ciegas del dibujo y atento a la accion :ahoy:

Yeah...definitely a fun way to draw. This works better for certain situations. Sporting events and stuff with heavy action are a good time to use it.

"...avoid art snobbery at all costs. You may miss out on some info that could help solve a problem unique to skill level."

This should be written in stone somewhere.

HA...yeah...artists are just opinionated people. It sort of comes with the territory. I've been that way, but when I opened my mind a bit ...the floodgates of knowledge were opened.

Cheers amigo!!
