I have been thinking a lot about colors lately and learning as much as possible about how the work. One thing that I can't help but notice is that names of colors should be non-existent when painting something. The names are great as far as being descriptive...but totally useless when actually painting something.
In one of the posts I mentioned an exercise of making a chart of one random color and progressing it along the value scale from 1 to 10, changing value only by the same amount for each step but not changing hue or intensity. This is one thing I have read about and have done to train my eyes to see colors a bit better. With the charts I have done I took the string of values a bit farther, and cooled them twice by an increment of one and warmed them twice by an increment of one. When I finish these charts, the whole thing will look like a bunch of greens perhaps but if you look closer there are magentas and yellows and purples....just all sorts of colors. The cool green in the lighter area of the chart will look more blue in comparison to the original green you started with...etc.
Anyways....I read a lot of blogs about color theory and what not. I think the learning doesn't start til you realize what you knew doesn't really exist. Color is cool as hell...well...it can be if you try the charts. More later.

Nomads Draw
I'm slowly pulling away from the Piratoloco handle with all the forums and whatnot. Time to start fresh and let the things of the past go. I've been wanting to share info on drawing and stuff for a long time. Since I can't teach at a school without a Masters Degree, and don't plan to get one anytime soon. I'm offering up my thoughts on the following site. I'll continue to post em here as well for a while.

Hope you guys find the info helpful. And no I'm not charging and money or anything. A lot of people helped me along the way, and I have been fortunate enough to have some amazing teachers, and read
